As Capital Breast Care Center celebrates six years of service to the Washington, DC, community, I invite you to support our efforts by becoming a sponsor of our 4th Annual Gift of Life Breakfast benefit. The event will take place Thursday, October 7, 2010, 9AM-10am (arrival and seating begins at 8:30AM) at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Capital Breast Care Center was founded in 2004 as a community initiative of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Medstar Health. We provide a critical safety net for thousands of low-income, minority women with no or minimal health insurance. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate breast cancer screening services and to promote health and wellness to women in the DC metropolitan area, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our 2009 Gift of Life Breakfast featured a pre-event VIP reception at the British Ambassador’s residence, a keynote speech by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and remarks from Senator Mary Landrieu. Michelle Cross Fenty, President of the Capital Breast Care Center's Advisory Council, joined fellow Advisory Council member Debbi Jarvis in calling on members of the DC community to reduce the severe breast cancer disparities in the District.
