Clinical Breast Exams

A clinical breast exam (CBE) is a physical examination of the breast by a healthcare professional.  All patients receiving breast care services at Capital Breast Care Center will receive a clinical breast exam.  This exam helps to identify any lumps or abnormalities in the breast and may find other breast problems that need treatment.

How To Prepare:

Before your CBE, tell your clinician if you

1. have noticed any changes or lumps in your breast. This includes any change in the nipple, such as discharge.

2. have had pain in your breast, especially if the pain is not related to your menstrual cycle.

3. are or might be pregnant.

4. are currently breastfeeding.

5. have breast implants

6. are taking hormone replacement therapy.

7. have had a breast biopsy.

8. have completed menopause.
